What to practise
- Reading comprehension: Read widely every day and answer questions about what the writer means, not only what happens.
- Creative writing: Write short stories and descriptions against the clock, then check spelling and punctuation.
- Maths: Keep arithmetic quick and accurate, and practise multi-step word problems up to the end of Year 6.
- Interview: Talk about books, interests and current events in full sentences, and explain how you worked something out.
